What is the program?

The Compassionate Vacation Program offers deserving individuals a chance to enjoy vacation lodging for one week at no cost.

How to apply?

Fill out the application form with your details and explain why you deserve a compassionate vacation.

Who can apply?

Patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, and/or their unpaid caregiver(s) is encouraged to apply and share their story.

Can I choose where I want to go on vacation?

No. Locations are chosen based on availability.

Do you offer healthcare services?

Unfortunately, we do not offer healthcare services. However, there may be times when we have volunteer aides willing to provide support in certain situations.

How and when will I know if I am chosen to go on vacation?

Drawings are held once a month and those selected will be notified via phone call. Selectees will have 72 hours to respond. Upon responding a date will be determined by Benignity, Inc. However, we will make every attempt to consider alternative dates.

Do you provide transportation and meals?

We do not provide transportation to the vacation destination. We can assist with transfers to/from airports within the lodging location. We also offer one $150 gift card toward meals.

What information is needed to apply?

We require your name, address, email, phone number, physician statement and your story.

Is there an age limit?

There is no specific age limit for patients to participate; However, deserving unpaid caregivers must be 21yrs and older to apply.

What is a life-limiting illness?

According to the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. "A life-limiting illness is an active, progressive, or advanced disease, that has little or no prospect of cure and that you’re likely to die from at some point in the future. If you have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness you may continue to live an active life for many years to come. "

Examples of life limiting illnesses are some cancers, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and dementia.

How do you determine who qualifies under a life-limiting illness?

To be included with submittal form, a written statement from the patient's physician is required that includes diagnosis.
